This is a video of Shara’s daughter, Audra, and husband, Scott, recounting their experience with Shara’s initial diagnosis and the progression of the disease. They have been an integral part of the YES! network for several years and we extend our gratitude to their family for being so open and willing to share their experience. With this video, Shara was able to promote a clinical trial which was fortunately open to those the age of 50 and over. Often in this field, clinical trials are open only for those 60 and over, which leaves out a large segment of those diagnosed with young-onset dementia from the research. This is only one of the hurdles families face with a YOD diagnosis and the deep impact on all aspects of their lives.
